When things get tough. Keep going!

The last few weeks I have been going through a time of wondering if what I am doing is even working.

You know those questions we ask ourselves:

  • Am I good enough?
  • Am I going to make an impact?
  • Should I keep doing this?
  • What’s the point?
  • Should I just give up?

The standard questions that go off in our heads when we begin to doubt that we have anything to say that people care about.  The truth is we all go through it. If we stick out our process long enough.

Shoot, even Grammarly critics every word you use and tells you if you are good enough.  Oh, the irony of feeling judged. That voice in your head saying, see you can’t even do this blog thing right.

I just want to encourage everyone to keep going.  To keep telling your story. Keep sharing your experience.  This is a process of learning. You are on a journey that cannot be defined by what you are doing, but by who you are becoming.

You are becoming a person that can help other people who are in the trenches trying to figure out how to get out.  They wanting so badly for someone to show that it is possible to live life differently. To not be mad and discouraged, but to have happiness and joy.

When you keep going it gives them hope that they can have a different life.  That life can be happy and fulfilling. That even when you struggle you can learn from the struggle.  Get stronger. Allow others to see that struggle and grow with you.

I have been working on discovering how to be the best person I can be.  In that process, I have discovered myself on a level that I once thought I would never reach.  In that struggle, I have discovered that it is not who I am, but who I am becoming that makes the difference.  I have stopped looking at the past and concentrated on living in the current moment so that my brain can discover a new and exciting me.  I want my brain to understand that it is not who I was that matter, but who I am right now. When I concentrate on living in the present I have found that my happiness level and my gratitude get higher.  My energy level stays level and I look forward to the future instead of getting stuck in the past.

So even though the struggle has been real.  I can put my head in the present and keep becoming the person that I want to be and not the person I was in the past.

So I encourage you to keep going.  Let the struggle happen, but don’t get overwhelmed with it.  Just live in the present with an eye on what the possibilities for the future as you become.
